I've been looking into the problem that people have when trying to use localised versions of Panic Button. It appears to be caused by using non-ASCII characters in the localised .po file, and as far as I can tell, is a bug in Python's gettext implementation. I'm upgrading to Python 2.5, but I don't know fi this will fix it or not. If not, I'll be filing a bug. I wanted to ask if it was possible/feasible to use only ASCII characters in localisations? I know next to nothing about foreign languages, so I have no idea whether or not it is feasible to replace, for instance, an e-acute with an e. Is this feasible, or will it render the translations entirely unusable? Russ |
