Freedom

The notion of freedom changes radically at a critical point in the evolution of civilization: the end of growth. Up until that point, the individual remains dominant and creates value through individual achievement. But those conquests have become uninteresting and dangerous. When land runs out, people realize that they have to live together and the only way forward is inter-connection and collaboration.
