Because I didn't reproduce the exact problem they were experiencing and I thought the cause would most likely be some oddities in each environment. I've been testing on the 7 major different platforms / distributions (MacOSX, Debian GNU/Linux, Fedora Core, NetBSD, FreeBSD, OpenBSD and Solaris) with different configurations, and they just worked fine.
