Tested on Ubuntu 5.10. Running programs that require
gksudo authentication (like synaptic) seem to hang.
works if you do "sudo synaptic" from terminal. If you
do "gksudo synaptic" from the terminal the user's name
and domain are truncated. if you have any questions
