If I run PalmVNC on a treo 700, I can not exit the program when I am finished. The splash screen stays active and remains above all other windows. I have to reset the device to kill the app.
FYI, this works for me just fine with the latest development version. Try it out. Unfortunately, for me, the up / down keys of the 5 way navigation don't work with the latest development version (12/30/2006). Good luck,

as a side note, you also could inject any SD Card. This causes an insert command for the palm to switch to the palm desktop. this is how I use it to exit.

I had the same problem at first, but i discovered/found a solution:
Hold the option (solid blue) key and press the home key. VIOLA!
