boxrinst.exe fails under Win2K

I'm using the most recent release of ZBoxZ and zlib,
and Palm Desktop 4.0 under Windows 2000 SP2. Running
boxrinst from the /palm directory results in a
horribly icky GPF:
16 bit MS-DOS Subsystem
C:\Palm\BoxrInst.exe
The NTVDM CPU has encountered an illegal instruction
CS:0534 IP:6938 OP:63 6f 6d 6d 61
Choose Close to terminate the application.
Previous releases of boxrinst worked fine.
Manually adding the appropriate Registry entries lets
me use the conduit, but newbies would be overwhelmed.
How can I help y'all track this down?
