Hello, I try to install uClinux on a palmVx. I install the file "uClinuxPalm.pr= c" form the web-site : http://palm-linux.sourceforge.net/. But when I run th= e application on the palm, I see the picture of the Linux penguin but I don= 't see anything on the serial port. I use the command : "cat | /dev/ttyS0" to see the characters on the seri= al device /dev/ttyS0. I already use this method to see the output of the xcopilot and it works very well. Does anyone can help me ? Does I make an mistake with my linux or the se= rial port ? Thanks Fabian Skiv=E9e PS : I try to install the linux on a Palm m500. Does anyone know the chan= ges I must apply to the code between the PalmVx and the Palm m500 ? -- Skiv=E9e Fabian [a] rue Petite Spinette 8, 4630 Soumagne, Belgium [t] + 32 (0) 4 377 23 76 [g] + 32 (0) 498 62 47 03 (direct) [e] fs...@sk... |

Hi all, I've just tried running the premade uClinuxPalm.prc on my Palm IIIc but it fails with a Fatal Exception :( Ah well. If anyone wants to chuck me some more .prc files to try out I'd be quite happy to. Hello, You asked for volunteers to fill in the hardware table at http://palm-linux.sourceforge.net... Just for kicks I loaded uClinuxPalm.prc into my old Palm III (OS 3.0, 2 MB RAM). I got the following output: Locking resources... 93 pages in 0x05d000 bytes! Ordering image pages... Then I got a Fatal Exception. You can fill in the blue box for Palm III with a red box now. :-) I guess I have no excuses now. I better download the sources and get going. --rick Rick Low Ottawa, Canada r dot low at computer dot org |

Hi there, i tried to install the uClinuxPalm.prc on my Palm IIIx and it worked fine, I could log in over a serial line, when the Palm is in its cradel. What i want to do now is to compile my own uClinuxPalm.prc from the uClinux sources. It already works in that way, that I am able to compile a prc (which wasn't that easy ;) ) and run it on my Palm, but it always gets me a crashed screen (the upper half is scambeld) and the only thing I can do is to hard reset it. I hoped that aI would be able to use it over the serial line, but this does not work in that case (i even put a line in romfs/etc/inittab It would be far more easier if I knew the configuration for the .prc file on the webpage (like what packages, etc) and then try to slowly add more packages. Thanks in advance for your Help! Regards Kai Militzer |

I used the palmloader.prc to load my Palm V. This is awesome, I can telnet in and play around, but how do I take it with me? Also how do I turn it off? Thank you, Stuart |

Hello, I noted on your site that you show the palm pilot pro as flashable, i was wondering if you know of any sources to outling how to flash custom images into the rom without the use of the palm os? The reason is quite simple, i am currently taking a course on the dragonball processor that involves programming it and i figured it would be fun to hack a palm pilot to create my own miniOS. So far my research has shown that the palm III on was not flashable, and since i do not want any trace of the palm os on the device, i need to be able to reflash the rom. Any information that you can provide to me would be greatly appreciated! Thank you for your time, -Chris Wright cw...@sy... |

I have tested Palm uClinux on a Symbol SPT 1700, and it appears to have failed to boot. Perhaps I am not doing it correctly but it does not appear to work. I set up Procomm for 9600,N,8,1 and ran the Palm Loader. It's now at the uClinux splash screen and appears to have frozen. Part of the URL below the main uClinux logo appears corrupted; I'm not sure if this is important or not--it looks like it says "/jusi^linuks/", but I can't read it since pixels from it are missing. Nothing has come up on the terminal. This test was done using the uClinuxPalm.prc application. The test Symbol is the newer version of the 1700 with the "Palm Powered" logo in the upper right corner instead of "Palm Computing Platform". It has 8 megs of RAM and I believe 4Mb flash. |

The sources to make uClinuxPalm.prc which David McCullough put together are available with _extremely_ minimal directions on how to unpack and build. You should be able to download the original dist, the patches and have prc-tools installed and you should be able to create your own uClinuxPalm.prc file. Happy hacking and sorry there isn't more done or better docs! -Craig Of course, if you don't wish me to email you again, please let me know. ===== email : cra...@ya... homepage : http://craig_comstock.tripod.com/ palm-linux : http://palm-linux.sourceforge.net/ __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
