#3 Host mode not working

I have been trying to use the host mode to download
tracks from the palm to my PC. I put the palm in the
cradle and select host mode and the palm screen begins
flashing and I see messages
like "initialising;initialising". Sometimes the word
is repeated many times, but it never stabilizes. And
my mapping software (Garmin MapSource) cannot download
the tracks.
