#2 eTrex Venture not transferring
PalGar 1.7.1 appears not to be able to transfer
waypoint, tracks and routes with the new eTrex models
(Venture/Legend/Vista).
I have a Palm Vx and an eTrex Venture, running 1.7.1
PalGar. Simple things, like GPS id and time/date are
OK, but waypoint/track/route transfer from the GPS do
not work.
This may be due to the fact that waypoint names can be
10 characters long in the new models, as they have
higher resolution screens.

Hi,
I'm still having same trouble. I'm working with a Palm IIIc
and and eTrex Venture. Using PalGar 1.7.1 the connection
between these devices isn't possible :-( When you got an
GPS id you have luck: my palm wait for an answer from eTrex
since weeks...
ATTENTION: I installed the PalGar 1.7.2b1 and hope for
fixing the problem. DON'T INSTALL THIS PROGRAM ! ALL DATAS
ARE LOST !!!

Just sent my eMap in for repair today.

The same is true of the eTrex Legend with the Palm VIIx
using v 1.7.2b1.
Trying to fetch from the GPS causes a fatal error.
Also, trying to go to host mode or track from GPS causes an
unending initializing routine.
