Today my group attempted to deploy a new pagekit site in place of an existing, heavily trafficked site. We found that we quickly reached the limit of connection our PostgreSQL database could handle, and even when upping this to 1200 connections, the limit would eventually be reached and many site features would stop working. (The site is busy, but not *that* busy.) We are using Apache::DBI, so we haven't been careful about dealing with database connections, and I am worried maybe we are missing some cleanup step; or alternatively Apache::DBI is keeping too many connections. Has anyone else experienced this kind of problem on a high-traffic pagekit site? Or does anyone have particular practices for database connections in pagekit sites? Or just general Apache::DBI sites? thanks, shimon. |
