I don't have time to read, or even search through the
whole database to see if these features have already
been requested, so forgive me if any of these are
duplicates.
First, THANK YOU so much for making this program and
making it freely available. It's wonderful. Please
consider the following minor suggestions as ways to
improve on perfection. ^_^
My wishlist for PADict:
1. In the romanji screen, after tapping "Clear", there
is no cursor in the input area on the left. This
necessitates an extra tap in that area to activate the
cursor there, and can be kind of a pain (esp. when
trying to do Japanese input, because the IME window
won't even come up when the cursor isn't present).
Could you please make it so that the cursor appears in
the input area after a "clear" command, making input
immediately available without any other adjustments?
2. A button in single entry mode that allows one to add
an entry to the hotlist. Such a button only exists in
multiple entry mode, which means if I tap on a word to
read the full definition and then want to add the word
to my hotlist, I either have to use the menu (or
shortcut) or go back to multiple entry mode. A button
would be really nice. ^^
3. Speaking of hotlists, how about an option to allow
users to choose a "default" or "current" hotlist? This
would allow words to be added without confirmation
every time (a confirmation window might still pop up,
i.e. "XXX has been added to hotlist YYY" but the user
wouldn't have to tap "OK" each time) when adding entries.
4. An option to have randomized entries in the
"trainer", instead of beginning at the beginning of the
list each time and working its way through to the end.
5. The ability to import and export hotlists,
*especially* into the format KingKanji uses.
6. And finally, tapping on a kanji should put the
cursor below, not above, that kanji (in the Romanji,
Kanji, etc screens). This is more intuitive; if I want
to learn about a particular kanji or delete something,
it makes more sense to tap on the character one wants
to interact with, not below it. Plus, one currently
can't select the last entry in a group of kanji because
this design issue.
Again, please accept these as respectful suggestions
for improving a very well-made and well-designed program.
Thank you,
-Janice

I second these.
On #5: an ability to convert hotlists to Twinkle format
(twinkle.sourceforge.net) would be quite helpful here,
especially since it would automatically allow to easily edit
and export the lists on the PC into smth like Excel (and,
consequently, into any other format, like KingKanji).
