Pachyderm makes use of a set of Java libraries to provide its basic web application implemention. These were developed by the NeXT computer company, in Objective-C, many years ago and incorporated into Apple's product set when they acquired NeXT. This set of libraries is called WebObjects. Over many years other developers have collectively expanded and enhanced WebObjects within an effort called Project Wonder, and that group, now with a formal non-profit status is responsible for active, on-going development of the Apple and Wonder frameworks that Pachyderm is built on.
