I'm trying to log progress (1% 2% … 100% etc) of packing \ unpacking with this console command:
7z a test.7z test.file | tee log.txt
and this one
7z a test.7z test.file > log.txt
but 7z does something without indication and outputs only final results at the end (Compressing test.file Everything is Ok). commands without attempts to log (e.g. 7z a test.7z test.file) are ok. I'm on ubuntu 10.04 and p7zip version is 9.13
Yes, fix the source code if you need percents in that case.
sorry, but I'm not a hardcore programmer. could you post already patched file? or at least give me a direction where to dig in. I guess I should edit 7za file with some kind of c++ developing stuff, don't I?
Just wanting to say that I'd find this useful too. Currently it seems to output the files that it has processed as it goes, but very inconsistently. Output of the real percent or dots would be extremely helpful. Is this project still being developed or is it all down to a "fix it yourself" stage?
Has this been fixed yet? I also found that i can't tee && see updates on screen at same time very annoying.
