New Stuff! No, I'm not dead!

Hey everyone (at least, everyone who actually reads this...), this is just a little heads up to say that I'm not dead! I've had a few changes in my designs, but I am still working on Oxygen. I've decided to re-examine my ambitious plan to write the entire Operating System on a .Net-style Virtual Machine because of the immense complexity of writing a Virtual Machine and allowing applications to be compiled from that Virtual Machine into native code to improve performance. Instead I'm going to look into working with other systems to achieve my goal of a Type-safe, Garbage collected, Object-Oriented programming environment for applications AND the kernel itself. I'm still planning on using the L4 microkernel as a base, and I still plan on using an Object-Oriented Disk System. Well, got to get back to work!

Message Boards

I'm going to start some Message Boards on oxygenos.sourceforge.net but for now, please feel free to discuss the features you want in an Operating Systems and what you really hate about current Operating Systems. Use the SourceForge Project fourms for now, but I will try to have the Message Boards up by Sept. 29 (Wednesday).

Time to get started

After a bit of a break, I'm actually going to start doing some work on this project! Of course, an Operating System is no easy task, so there will be a long design period. I'm going to start posting some documents and ideas regarding the Operating System and its concepts.
