We have now cheked a new branch into CVS with lots of modifications. It is called "branch-1-0-4_security".

Among the changes, there are:

- password-protected sections
- password-protected vmodules
- usermanager (db based) with roles
- filter/sort for file-manager

As always, since there is not a lot of documentation around, you can consider posting to the mailing-list or the forum.

The OWX project team

Contains lots of bugfixes and the brand new TreeBrowser tag. As well as the VRWatchAction, which can be used to check if a OWX instance is still in up and running.

At the same time, i would like to announce OWXv4, which will contain a UserManager and Non-Public, protected areas (in OWX terms, these are sections). And a few other interesting things.

If someone of you needs more information about OWX, its configuration or anything else, please don't hesitate to contact us at owx-team@gmx.net.

For those who like to contribute or would like to modify / compile OWXv3 i've added the file owxv3-v1.0.2-devlibs-20030113.tar.gz to the download section.

It contains:

- ServletContainer Tomcat 4.0x and 4.1x Libs
- JDBC Stdandard Extensions
- PostgreSQL JDBC Driver
- Struts Framework
- Jakarta Commons
- Xerces XML Parser
- JDom XML Library

Here's how you do:

Checkout the module "owxv3" from CVS. Then download the file mentioned above and extract it over your CVS working directory of owxv3. Note that it contains the binaries and libraries needed for compiling and running owx. ... read more

Since we were releasing OWX under the GPL, people were downloading. But we have no feedback on the mailing-lists, the forum etc. Please let us know how you find our OWX software.

Am sorry to inform, that the owxv3-v1.0.1-beta-20020915.tar.gz file was corrupt until 9-19-02. Today 13:00 MET i've uploaded a fixed version and a zip files. Please try them instead.

Download and try the latest OWXpackage that comes along with examples and a demosite!

The JAR files were removed, since they were not complete like that. Please checkout the releases of OWXv1-3, that comes with a demo site and default config. Development on OWXv1 and OWXv2 has been ceased. Therefore we recommend to start with v3...
