Just if anyone needs to use OVI in newer kernels, this code works for me on OpenSuSe 11.1.
You need the library smx204X-1.1.3 from signametrics to access your devices (SMX2040 is the only device that I have and test).
See my previous message on the list (August 2007) for more details on this quick & dirty port.
