#16 Still umlaut problem in v0.3.1

A friend of mine is using Trillian basic 3.1 (build
121) with
otrproxy-0.3.1 on socks5. I'm using Gaim2 beta3 with
libotr 3.0.0 and
gaim-otr 3.0.0 in linux.
If he sends me a message over ICQ or AIM containing
umlauts like öäüÖÄÜ,
I just get a blank message with no text in it. On the
other hand, if I
send him messages with umlauts everything works as desired.

And yes I'm sure that he uses 0.3.1 and that the
version information is saying 0.3.1, too.

Ringed characters like å from the swedish alphabet and
characters like the norwegian ø also have this same problem.
This happens with Trillian Pro 3.1 and OTR Proxy 0.3.1

same problem here...
I use otrproxy 0.3.1 so does my friend.
I tried it with qip and miranda clients.
both behave the same.
my friend uses LICQ, another one GAIM.
I can read their umlauts like öäü without problems,
but the one with GAIM only gets squares and other special characters instead of umlauts,
the one using LICQ only gets the sentence until a umlaut occurs.
like when I send "hello, ü test" he only gets "hello, ".
without the proxy theres no problem.
