No

I run Vine on my Mac but the resolution is fixed to the attached monitor. Is it possible to have the client decide the size of the desktop?

For example, the Mac monitor is only 1280x800. When I VNC into it, I'm using a client resolution of 2560x1024 and I'd like to see the VNC desktop in that resolution. How do I do that?

Thanks.

It's a good suggestion but to actually make it part of the VNC protocol would require an extension. We could put it into Vine Viewer and Vine Server but it wouldn't work with other VNC providers adopting the protocol.

As a user -- you can SSH to the machine before hand and set the resolution using a command-line tool like displayutil. What we might do at some point is allow you to set a specific resolution on the server that will be _used_ when a client connects.

This I believe will solve my problem. I'm OK with setting a fixed virtual resolution beforehand because it won't change anyways, as long as it could be bigger than the real display resolution.

I'll also try displayutil. But from what I've read so far, people have mixed results with it...

    Thanks.
