The Settings Panel
The settings panel provides access to the application preferences.
Structure
The Structure Tab manages the setting which configures how the files where organized in the target folder.

- Create folders: If you select None all track files will be placed inside the target folder with no structure, selecting Playlists will create a separate folder for each playlist, where the file are stored (it's possible, that the same track, which appears in different playlists, is copied or encoded several times.
- Number Tracks: If this setting is checked, every mp3-file is prefixed with the track number of its occurrence in the playlist. You can choose where to start with the numbering and the leading zeros of the digits.
Encoding
This tab configures the way how the tracks are encoded.

- Reencode tracks: Forces re-encoding of every track exported. Use this setting if you want to have a lower quality or to save space on the target device. If this setting is not checked, only tracks, which are not mp3-file, are re-encoded to there average bitrate with VBR mode.
- with constant bitrate: The bitrate to use for constant bitrate encoded mp3-files.
- with quality: The quality to use for variable bitrate encoded mp3-files.
- Normalize track volume: Adjust the volume of every track so that they sounds similar (see ffmpeg and aacgain for details), ffmpeg and aacgain avoid clipping of the peaks when setting the gain.
- modify gain by: Set the desired volume adjutsment in decibel, this could be a negative or positive float in increments of 0.5, you can set the modification in a range of -10.0 to +10.0. Be aware, that output values are clipped to the maximum value when using this feature when encoding.
Mostly you will use exported tracks on a mp3-player or on a stick for use in your car, so it's not useful to have the same quality as in iTunes, so you can lower the bitrate to save space.
Playlists
Configures which kind of playlist is used and customizes the path specifications, which depends on the kind of player used for playback.

- Create M3U playlists: If checked this setting produces a M3U playlist in the top-level of your folder structure. M3U playlists are text files, which organizes the tracks. What kind of playlist you use is mostly a question of what your player supports.
- M3U: Standard for most players.
- M3UEXT: Extended M3U playlist, provides more information about a song (not supported by any device).
- M3U8: Extended M3U playlist encoded in UTF-8 (not supported by any device).
- Prefix file path: Some players requires, that the file path is prefixed, e.g. C: or file:/ . Consult your players documentation for details.
- Path separator: The path separator depends on your player, so please consult the documentation (standard / )
Tagging
Regards to the ID3 tagging of the mp3-files exported.

- Rename Files: Renames the exported files to the track title stored in ID3 tags.
- Save File Names: Make the changed name file system save by elimination any non-ascii character.
- Character Set: strict-ascii only ascii character are used, loose-ascii ascii characters and some punctuation characters are used. It depends on the player.
- Change ID3 track tag: Changes the ID3 track number tag to the track number used for numbering the file.
- Add track number to ID3 Title: Prefixes the ID3 title with the track number.
These settings are not very common and are only useful in specific cases.
Application
These are some settings changing the behavior of iTunesExport.

The settings are mostly self explaining and concern to warnings displayed by the application.
The Verbosity setting only appears in Beta releases, it will be removed in production.
