I tried to put a large table in a grid, it ran out of memory. Is there a way to show a table that has many rows (80,000 to 500,000), without having it all be read in upfront?
I did a sample JTable test using a JDBC resultset (with scrollable cursors), it was able to display 80k records ok (the initial query took some time, but scrolling was reasonably fast). Can something similar be done in Swingset?
Maybe you should see some sample applications included with OpenSwing distribution: many of them combine a GridControl component with pagination policy, using QueryUtil or other utility classes that limit the number of records to read with respect to a large result set.
Thanks, I will look to see which sample apps use QueryUtil. If you know of any particular one, please let me know.
