[OSSIM] 3d models from kmz files

I have noticed that several 3d models (from kmz files) tend to disappear when elevation is enabled.  This seems to be the case for many of the models I downloaded from Google's 3d warehouse.  It has also occurred with a model I created myself with Google Sketchup.

The models all display just fine when elevation is disabled.

What is going on?
