Management Systems, Portals, and Beyond=94
Sponsored by RUSA MARS Hot Topics Discussion Group
Saturday, June 24, 2006 10:30 - 12:30, Sheraton New Orleans Grand=20
In a rapidly evolving information space where libraries are competing=20
with free commercial entities to provide core services, delivering=20
library resources at the point of patron need has never been more crucial.
Please join us as we explore how to drive library resources right to our=20
users=92 point of need through integration with course management systems=
such as Blackboard, WebCT, Sakai, or other. Our panel of 5 librarians=20
will talk about the ways in which they have integrated library resources=20
with online CMSs, covering topics from planning the integration of=20
resources and developing relationships with CMS managers to implementing=20
content integration and library tutorials within course management=20
systems. Question and discussion session to follow. If you have=20
developed open source solutions to integrate resources into any course=20
management system, we would invite you to share what you have done=20
during the the discussion session.
