Registration is now open for Access 2003: Extending Our Abilities, at http://access2003.lib.sfu.ca/registration.php The Access 2003 conference is happening Oct. 1 to 4 in Vancouver, British Columbia. Access is one of the premier technical conferences for libraries. The theme for this year's Access is "Extending Our Abilities", focusing on using technology to extend the capabilities of libraries in new and creative ways . The conference will feature leading-edge presentations, including a keynote by Tim Bray, co-editor of the XML 1.0 spec and W3C invited expert, and a round up of technology trends by Clifford Lynch, Director of the Coalition for Networked Information. Attendees will also have the opportunity to exchange ideas at the Birds-of-a-Feather sessions, get creative at the pre-conference Hackfest, and network during the evening social events, including a harbour cruise and a visit to Vancouver's legendary Railway Club.
