Hi all,
Is perl with the MARC::Record (etc) modules still the "standard"
for manipulating marc records?

We'll be massaging our records prior to migrating to Evergreen.

But I thought I'd check here to see if there aren't other tools for
modifying marc records.  Maybe there are other languages/modules
that are now available?  (OS or free, of course.)

Many thanks for any pointers.

(The sort of things we will be doing to our records:
If THIS then add a "j" to the front of the call number.
If subfield X of tag Y is THIS then change the subfield from X to Z.
If the text in 650 $a is THIS then move the information to tag 651...
If the second indicator of tag X is blank then write to an exceptions file for
later review...
etc.
