Our OpenStreetMap-in-a-box (osminabox) project seems to be very similar to. Osminabox consists mainly of a tool called 'osm2gis' which imports OSM data and stores it in the database (PostgreSQL/PostGIS) in a fully relational database schema using a flexible configuration file.
What are the similarities and differences to OSM2PostGIS? Is there any opportunity for cooperation?

For the last few months I've been busy in all kinds of personal dealings (including getting married) and also some technical challenges with the OSM2PostGIS test environment. For these reasons I have put OSM2PostGIS on a hold on my personal list of priorities for a while. So, it has been a bit quiet for some time now.
Anyway, I'm almost finished with a backend deployment model that provides a more solid platform for my GIS databases. After I'm happy with it, I will probably come back to the OSM2PostGIS project and work will continue with it. At the moment I'm working on more low level stuff.

Thank you for asking! Sure that is possible.
