The program UdpEcho connects fine with the ppp daemon when compiled normally (debugopt) but fails when compiled with just debug (non-optimized).
Tool chain for the cc430f5137 (surf board) is gcc-4.4.5 from the osian mspgcc4.git. as of 11/2010.
