Hi,
I have recently installed OSTicket 1.9.5.1 to look into using it as our Help Desk system. I have downloaded OSFaq 1.2.1-ST which has a README file for OSTicket 1.6-1.7. Is there anything different I have to do to install it for OSTicket v1.9.5.1?
Thank You

    Hi,
Im overdue to do some work on osFaq but my last batch of testing with osTicket 1.9.4 worked. The DB permissions section on the installer intro page will probably display incorrect results though but it shouldnt affect the installer.

Also, be careful when editing any ostickest pages referenced in the installer incase they have changed. From memory I didnt have any issues when I tried with OST1.9.4. If you have trouble let me know and I can work through it with you if any fixes are needed.

Hopefully I can get some work on osFaq underway this quarter.

    Regards,
    Tim

Can you explain the http://[your-osticket-directory]/faq/setup?.My osticket folder is under opt. Do I just type http://[opt/osticket]/faq/setup/?

      Hi,
You would replace [your-osticket-directory] with the domain or IP of your website with any subfolders after it. Basically substitute http://[your-osticket-directory] with the URL you use to visit your osTicket web site.

    Mr. Gall,

I am trying to install osfaq version 1.2.1 st on osticket version 1.9.5.1 and I am getting the following error:

FATAL ERROR: Failed to load the osFaq settings file. Please make sure you uploaded the osFaq files to the correct locations.
How do I fix this problem? I noticed that the folder upload has an scm folder in it....as well as the contents of the upload folder of osfaq. What do I do...rename the scm folder under upload or rename scm folder under osfaq?
    Thanks

    Hi Marlon,
The folder structure in the osFaq upload folder matches the osTicket installation. Nothing should be renamed, just upload the files to the osTicket folder... so the contents of the scp folder goes into the osTicket scp folder. All the other files in the osFaq upload folder get uploaded to your osTicket directory. The upload folder doesnt get uploaded, just the contents of it. All files should maintain their directory structure and names.

    Regards,
    Tim

    Tim,

Thank you very much for all your help.
I was able to get osfaq installed.
The only problem now is when I click on new faq...osfaq goes to problem loading page. I look on the address bar and it has http://localhostscp/osfaq_admin.php?fcPath=0&action=new_faq. I think I am missing the word support after localhost and before scp. Which file do I need to modify so when I click on new faq...it will take me to the new faq page? Please advise. Thanks.

    Never mind.
    I figured out.
The file needing modifications is /faq/include/config.faq.php. Thank you for all your help. This is a great experience.Thank you for your patience and understanding.
