#4058 Appointment reason only saves 80 characters

Problem Summary:
When entering notes for an appointment reason or updating the reason, character entry can exceed 80+ characters but upon saving the appointment, only the first 80 characters will be saved.

Expected Result:
The input should be limited to 80 characters or the database and function should be expanded to accept a larger number of characters.

Actual Result:
No limit on character entry is forced.

Note: Workaround available to list extra notes in the notes section of the appointment screen or the e-chart. When adding notes, a visible warning is there to indicate if you exceed 255 characters.

Character limitation is a desired feature here. If excessive notes need to be recorded they should be done in an medication encounter note (aka: annotation).

We understand why character limitation is desired but there is no warning to the user, whereas when saving in notes, there is a warning. There should be a change to OSCAR's behaviour so it mirrors the notes section by providing a warning to users.

I understand now. Yes there should be a warning. I think this can be fixed in the JSP layer. I will take a look.

Note: Appointment notes limit was fixed for the bug [#2608]
