I've got several request from developers needing version number on individual bundle files, just because they use an external repository for bundles (read: Maven). That's why the KF build system nowadays generates bundles on the form name-<version>.jar where version is the exakt string as in the manifest attribute Bundle-Version. Granted, this makes some bootstrapping sensitive to version changes, but you do catch the cases where APIs or important functionality actually change from one version to another. Even if obr names != bundle jar file names, I think it makes sense to handle the version number in both places to reduce errors. /Erik W PS.
