Hello, Beta 2 will be coming out the end of this week. I had a major hard drive corruption that affected much of the family section of OSC in Beta 1. It's been caught and checked into SVN. A 2nd beta release will follow the end of this week. Thank you, Steve |

Hello All, I've started a new topic in the OSC forum. I would like to have everyone submit data from different church software packages. It would be awesome if we have import wizards to help churches convert from different Church Software packages to OSC. Thanks, and may god bless all your new year endeavors. Steve M. |

Team, I've created a new directory in CVS, xoopsmodule. Within this directory is oscdirectory and oscmembership. Oscdirectory is a simple online directory that allows xoops websites to look at church directory information. If anyone would like to add more to this please do. Email me what you are working on or your idea so I can keep things coordinated. OSCMembership is the membership module and is currently a work in progress. If anyone wants to do work on this please email me so we can coordinate efforts. This is a new exciting adventure for OSC. Xoops integration will allow us to develop modules within a framework and allow any OSC site to utilize other xoops modules. Good Coding. Steve |

Hello. I've been corresponding with Steve about starting with OSC as a user and tinkerer. I figured I could start bothering more people than just him. Just kidding, I hope to have a positive impact on this great piece of Open Source software. Keep in mind, that while I am seeking to use this specifically with my church, I also am aware of the need to keep the basic programming generic so it can be used by other organizations. I would like to propose an idea for an event table within OSC. Here are a few ways it can benefit OSC. I am a Pastor of a United Methodist Church and the General church just instituted some new standards for membership record-keeping. Part of that is the tracking of different dates: Birth, marriage, baptism, profession of faith, Transfer to another church, removal of membership, death, etc. They also want to track other important events in a person's life for passing on of information to other pastors who serve a church. And it seems to me that instead of simply adding more fields to the person's record, to have a separate table for all event types (like osc now has for property types with the addition of a date field) Another use for it that I am interested in is the addition of a visitation/contact module. This would track when I have made visits to people and would also keep track of when I need to visit/contact someone again. By having an event table, I can track when I visited who and what came of it, as well as see who I need to see in a week. I have a few other things that I have been writing down as I have been importing and then cleaning up the data from my churches (my smaller one is a testbed before I do my larger one) I wanted to get some feedback on this since it involves a bit of a bigger change than simply fixing a bug here or there. Hello All, I've started a requirements document for the tithing module. I've also included in this a mod to the donation page to allow entry by individual. Please review and give feedback. I would like to start development of this within the next two weeks. Thanks Steve. |

Team (Steve, Ron), I just checked in a number of bug fixes to CVS. I apologize for such a buggy piece of code in CVS. Things should be much cleaner. We are focusing on a release after Christmas for OSC. Ron, If you can spend anytime QA'ing it would be greatly appreciated. There is a section of SQL code in the SQL directory that upgrades an Infocentral database to the OSC version. I could sure use a seperate set of eyes for this. Steve, We could use your graphic changes on the site asap (or just after Christmas). I'd like to get some screen shots out there when we release. Thank you all for your time, efforts and consideration. Steve M. |
