When generating mailing labels or sending letters to a
family it might be appropriate to address them as
either "The Smith Family" or "John and Jenny Smith".
When exporting with family records the name is only
shown as "Smith Family" and individuals with no family
as "Smith, John".
This would make addressing letters to families (and
individuals) difficult.
I can think of 2 ways to correct this:
1. Add an extra field on family records called
something like "mode of address" which could contain
"The Smith Family" or "John and Jenny Smith".
2. Add the ability to add custom fields at the family
level allowing users to set this up themselves.
In either case the new fields should be included in
reports/exports.
In fact it might be better to allow both a formal and
informal mode of address at the family level (llike
above) so that the most appropriate one can be used
based on the circumstances (for example an envelope
might be addressed differently from the way a family is
addressed in a letter).

Couldn't it be automatically derived based on the number of
adult and child persons in the family?
