For a month now I've been screwing around with this IDE and getting nowhere with this thing. First, when I have a problem, I find the forum useless. I never get an answer, and looking at the activity on the forum it seems that it is not being used. I see a lot of views, but have never seen an answer to any of my posts that I have made! So it is useless! The documentation, what there is, is trivial and almost useless. I have been trying to get such a simple task as using the debugger running, but I get nowhere except a lot of errors. The debugger documentation is useless as far as trying to figure out what is wrong with code. It is vague and does nothing to help using the debugger. I can't even get a watch or break point to work! There are no tutorials for using this thing. The worst thing, above all, is the simple fact that I had this same code running on a previous version of this IDE! So the problem is not the code! This IDE is NOT user friendly!!!!

So after all this frustration, I will be getting rid of DevC++, and putting my code into Eclipse with a C++ plug in! Eclipse has forums that are well used and very active and helpful. Eclipse also has amazing tutorials on how to configure and use their IDE, especially the debugger. A lot more info on Java related subjects such as code testing and persistence, but that is not relevant to C++. So, my recommendation to anyone looking to learn C or C++ programing is to forget this project and download and use Eclipse with a C++ plug in, or just download the C++ version of Eclipse if you don't care about using Java! Believe me Eclipse has much more documentation and it has a lot of tutorials to help to learn a programming language, especially Java, but the C++ plug in and it's documentation is very, very good!!!!!
