Category: None Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Adam Ralph (ralphad) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: superfluous 'Missing Mandatory Sample Population' error Initial Comment: A 'Missing Mandatory Sample Population' error is shown for a non-mandatory role. To re-create:- 1. Create a new ORM file. 2. Add the fact - Book(.Name) is reviewed by Person(.Name) 3. Add a uniquness constraint spanning both roles in the fact type. 4. Add a sample population entry to Book of 'War and Peace' You will now see that a 'Missing Mandatory Sample Population' error is shown - 'Model Error: 'Book' instance 'War and Peace' in model 'ORMModel1' must participate in FactType 'BookIsReviewedByPerson'.' Unless I am mistaken, this error should not show because the role is not mandatory. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=809608&aid=2902410&group_id=158881 |

Try to enter for example Terry's model "Death objectifies (Person(Name) is dead)" - the objectification is done so that a cause-of-death fact type can be added. this worked ok in the previous CTP because there was no implicit ValueType. When the mouse passes into the 2nd entity typem the background greys to indicate the drop zone. Release the mouse, and the cursor, arc, and grey background vanish, but no subtype arrow appears. There appears to be no way to define a subtype. I'm running Windows XP SP2 with NORMA 2007-06b CTP under Parallels Desktop 26 Feb 2007 (build 3186) on Mac OS/X. It seems to be the same whether Parallel is in full-screen, windowed or Coherence mode. The same thing happened with the previous (May?) CTP I had previously, but I didn't worry because I assumed it would be fixed with the new CTP. This is a pretty embarrassing bug guys - in front of a client trying to do some real-world modeling, to find the tool lets me down and I can't make any forward progress. Please let me know another way to define s subtype with this CTP. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Clifford Heath (cjheath) Date: 2007-08-03 21:49 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1608419 Originator: YES Sorry, it was my fault of course. Category: None Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Orion Bühler (orionb) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Occasional inablility to change roles on an internal constra Initial Comment: When the fact type is displayed vertically (rotated right) I couldn't change it from a 'one to many' to a 'many to many' by doubleclicking on the constraint to edit its roles. I was able to get around it by changing to horizontal display, changing the constraint, and rotating it back. I was also still able to select roles and rightclick to 'add constraint.' It was only when doubleclicking the little purple dash to the right of the role boxes. However, I was unable to duplicate this on a new model. To help with this elusive lil' bug, I've attached the 'flypaper.orm' file. I took my model and removed everything unrelated, testing to see if the bug remained. Hopefully this helps track it down! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=809608&aid=1752700&group_id=158881 |

Category: None Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Brian Nalewajek (brian27) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Mixing terms Mode/Scheme Initial Comment: Hi, Just noticed that the error message displayed, when an entity object type does not have an assigned reference mode, states "Error 2 Entity type 'EOT' in model 'Base' requires a preferred reference scheme." In the properties window for this entity object type, there is a "RefMode" combo box. I've heard that the subject of reference modes and value types are part of internal discussions at Neumont. Whatever the outcome, it would be best to settle on one term. Personally, I think "scheme" make more sense than "mode" in this context, but consistency within the tool and throughout the documentation is probably more important. By any name, the concept is important and took me a while to understand. You don't want to frustrate people new to ORM. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=809608&aid=1742448&group_id=158881 |

Category: None Group: None >Status: Closed Resolution: Fixed Priority: 3 Private: No Submitted By: Tyler (tynman) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Inconsistent constraint coloring for numeric ranges Initial Comment: Not sure if this is by design, but I'm guessing not.... I just created a value range on a Numeric: Unsigned Integer value type. If the range is [1..14], "The possible values of MyValueType are at least 1 to at most 14" is in bolded blue. Any combination of (1..14], (1..14), [1..14) has the "at most"/"at least"/"above"/"below" text in green. I believe the [] bolded blue combination is probably the formatting error. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: SourceForge Robot (sf-robot) Date: 2007-04-27 19:20 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1312539 Originator: NO This Tracker item was closed automatically by the system. Also added a color option for instance values and bound values to this instead of the objectType category. The blue was correct (these are categorized as quantifiers). If you have other suggestions pipe back in. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=809608&aid=1689349&group_id=158881 |

Category: None Group: None >Status: Closed Resolution: Fixed Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Tyler (tynman) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Cannot rotate fact types, change constraint display position Initial Comment: Don't know if it's just me (nobody else around me has a running copy of NORMA to test it on), but as of revision 1012 you cannot rotate the fact types. The menus show up fine, and I can swap roles, but selecting "Vertical, rotated ____" does nothing. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: SourceForge Robot (sf-robot) Date: 2007-04-26 19:20 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1312539 Originator: NO This Tracker item was closed automatically by the system. Some modifications to the code were made to handle multiple shapes for the same element on the same diagram, and the transactions were not committed for the constraint position or orientation menu items. The corresponding properties in the property grid still worked correctly. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Tyler (tynman) Date: 2007-03-27 10:35 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1303870 Originator: YES Also, the "Constraints on Top/Bottom" toggle doesn't work from the context menu. Works fine from Properties. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Kevin M. Owen (kevinowen) Date: 2007-03-26 11:13 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1014759 Originator: NO I've confirmed that this isn't working for me either through the context menu right now; we'll get that fixed. In the mean time, you rotate the fact types by directly changing the value of the DisplayOrientation property in the Properties window. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=809608&aid=1688612&group_id=158881 |
