Program Close by Find
Status: Inactive
Brought to you by:

1. open Organ-Izer
2. load a database (or create one)
3. Type a large amount of useless data into the "find"
text box (to play it safe, the maximum of 30, 000
characters of repetitious "ffffddddd" or other useless
text)
4. check the check box "use regular expressions"
5. click "Find"
The above causes (on my xp computer running sp2) to
close Organ-Izer.

I tried to reproduce the bug with more than 60 000
characters but it did not close. I'm guessing that the regex
engine/app ran out of memory and thus was closed. Did it
give any error messages?
I tested it with the following machine:
Dual P3 800Mhz
1GB SDRAM Reg. ECC
Windows XP Pro SP2
Logged In: NO
No error messages. It just completely closed without any
sign at all. I'm running the same OS, but my PC has the
following:
1.79 GHZ
512 MB RAM
I basically used the maximum allowed in the search box.

I just wanted to try this on another PC.
I tried the same process on another computer with the following:
OS: Windows XP Pro SP2
RAM: 1 GB
Processor: 3.2 GHZ P4
The same thing happened.
