Initial Comment:
This patch removes the "disable-debug" arg from configure.
This is actually something that should have been
included in my previous patch, but I overlooked it.
Users who want compiler flags other than the default
("-g -O2") can provide them by setting CXXFLAGS and
CFLAGS at configure time, so this option isn't necessary.
