when I run "orbitcpp-config --libs" here is what I get:

$orbitcpp-config --libs

I installed the orbitcpp based on the installation instruction in the
INSTALL that came with the distribution.

You also need to link in the ORBitcpp library. Run 'orbitcpp-config --libs'
to see which libraries you need.
