For bugzilla? Because it's required to be able to receive email so
developers can follow up on a bug. If you don't care for security, use a
dumb password, but let us find you :)

And btw: if you're writing because of the bug you just reported, I have a
patch for it I'm testing (string arguments are quoted) right now.
