[Orbit-python-list] How should O-P handle references to deactivated objects

Say we deactivate an object through poa.deactivate_object(). If references were generated to that object, what happens when we try and dereference them? This is a cool thing to control because we can start handling on-demand startup of servants and that sort of thing. IIRC CORBA does account for this, but I don't know how it's done, really.
