This works with 1.5.2 (I don't have anything but that installed, so it should work on 2.0) you have to install the distutils module for 1.5.2 but thats no biggie.

OK thanks.  I've tested it on a couple of Debian (sid) machines and all was well.  It is much much easier than having to patch automake and do strange things to it :)
