At the beginning of his speech he stated what was the basis for his wonderful creation, MySQL. But major part of the speech represented the improvement of MySQL, its contribution to the modern software development, cons and pros of MySQL, how we can contribute to its further improvement and etc. Throughout the speech he compared the position of MySQL with other open source database softwares. But he never tried to flatter its superiority. One of the question raised by the audience was "According to your view what is the best database software in the world now". His answer was quiet humble which I never expected. " There's nothing called the best software in the world. All depends on the perception of the developers and the nature of the project undertaken". At the conclusion of his speech he gave a good advice to all of us. " What ever you do,whether it's big or small, give the best shot of your talents."... read more
