Each of us, in our own way. That's the neat thing about being human. With a bit of luck, this project will bring out the true creative potential in everyone who uses it and help make the world a better place.

There are some harsh realities out there, and one thing in particular sticks out: People are largely losing interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) fields, particularly the younger generation. There aren't anywhere near as many people in to programming as there should be. But why could this be? We've tried things in the past to raise interest, but we never really stopped to ask if we're just going at it wrong from the get-go. As we're recently learning, different people learn in different ways, and "intelligence" is far too complicated a concept to properly quantify. Many people would benefit from a more visually-oriented programming method, and it would even give benefits for people who already know how to code.

The initial design was created with the mindset "in order to get people interested in anything, you have to give them something to chew on". Once you open the editor, you should be able to at least create something that you can show others within a very short amount of time with very limited understanding. If you don't have their attention within that short an amount of time, you're not going to have anywhere near the size of the audience.

Imaginationland is an Integrated Development Environment (or "IDE" for short) designed around the principle that there is far too much time wasted on manually coding all the little intricacies of your program. Sure, if you do that you'll be able to make sure everything will work the way you want it and there isn't anything there that shouldn't be... but is it really worth that much effort if there's an more efficient algorithm available to use? Bill Gates was rumored to have once said "I will always choose a lazy person to do a difficult job, because he will find an easy way to do it", and he was right. And they're among our target audience.

The thing that makes Imaginationland different from other IDEs is that it uses "Snips" -- sections of customizable code that integrate seamlessly in to your application in order to resolve repetitive or tedious operations, or can even be used to make it significantly more efficient. From something as simple as printing a line of text, to something as complex as a webserver, the experience will really be in your own hands when you use the template and snippet authoring and editing functions, in addition to the built-in library!

Home modified by The Maker

--- v1
