After back button from search result, search box empty
Status: Beta
Brought to you by:

After clicking on a Google search result, and then hitting the back button to go back to the results page, the search box is empty. The search terms entered are gone.
Steps to recreate:
1. Go to http://www.google.com
2. Enter any search term and search for it
3. Click on any result
4. Hit the back button to go back to the results page
I can't reproduce it. Does it only happen with certain options enabled?

I had the same. I disabled "Click pursuit always remove" and at the moment (tested some searches) it works.

I must to adjust my answer. Now it works with the back but when i edit the words in the searchbox and search again that won't work (searchbox is empty when i pressed enter).
Just verified the original behaviour: search terms were missing when back button was clicked. This (and your last comment) indicate to me that this is an intermittent issue -> hard to track down.
On v0.78.1. happens 90% of the time for me which is pretty annoying when you want to refine search terms. I did change some options (disable showing additional search links and removing ads). is there a way of dumping all the options?
You should be able to see all the option settings in "about:config" by filtering for "optimizegoogle", but there is no facility for dumping all options.
The web configuration is most likely the culprit, if anything.
Which google are you using (country/URL)?
