Hi, I get a lot of questions about how to use the architectural perfmon code which is the only way to make oprofile work on Nehalem and Atom systems currently. And these systems are quite widely used now. Since it gets tiring to explain to everyone how to get a release from CVS (and that is sometimes tricky to do through firewalls). Would it be possible to do an early release 0.9.5 for this? This could be either last stable version + arch perfmon patches or just the current tree which seems reasonable stable. Andi, There's another new feature being reviewed on the list lately -- instruction-based sampling (IBS) -- that's probably a candidate for inclusion in the next release.
