Apologies if this is addressed in an FAQ, but I couldn't see anything on the home page. I downloaded oprofile-0.5.3, and simply ran the configure script, indicating the kernel source tree, and did a make and make install. When I run opcontrol --no-vmlinux (I am not interested in profiling the kernel) I get: /lib/modules/2.4.18-4GB/oprofile/oprofile.o: init_module: Device or resource busy Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters /lib/modules/2.4.18-4GB/oprofile/oprofile.o: insmod /lib/modules/2.4.18-4GB/oprofile/oprofile.o failed /lib/modules/2.4.18-4GB/oprofile/oprofile.o: insmod oprofile failed /lib/modules/2.4.18-4GB/oprofile/oprofile.o: init_module: Device or resource busy Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters /lib/modules/2.4.18-4GB/oprofile/oprofile.o: insmod /lib/modules/2.4.18-4GB/oprofile/oprofile.o failed /lib/modules/2.4.18-4GB/oprofile/oprofile.o: insmod oprofile failed Kernel doesn't support oprofile I am running on Suse 8.0 (the kernel version is 2.4.18-4GB, but just as /boot/vmlinuz) Are there additional compile options, or do I need to recompile my kernel for additional support of the NMIs? Thanks Aaron Turner |
