I'm trying to use oprofile-0.7 for profiling some in-kernel
First observation: I don't see any NMI interrupts in /proc/interrupts.
Is this normal behaviour?
Second observation: it seems to me that oprofile only measures one cpu
(cpu#1). Indeed, if I make all network traffic be processed only on
cpu#0 (by aligning both the card interrupt and the user thread to cpu#0)
oprofile does not report many cache misses while it reports lots of
cache misses if I make all network traffic on cpu#1. Does anyone have an
explanation to this behaviour?
processor: Xeon 2.8Ghz
number of processors: 2
chipset: Intel E7501
performance counter: BSQ_CACHE_REFERENCE
PS: please cc: me in the reply since I'm not on the alias.
