Re: OProfile 2.5 patch and UP kernels

I have been trying to back port the 2.5 patch to the 2.4 kernel. This 
was a 2.5.42 with the oprofile patch. I built my 2.5 kernel with SMP 
enabled, so I don't know whether the stuff OProfile works on the UP 
kernel. It is likely something I am doing stupid in the back port. I 
built the 2.4 kernel as a UP kernel. I am trying an experiment on my 
back port to see if the problem goes away when compiled as SMP.

I grabbed the current 2.5.44 kernel and I am following the instructions 
on the web page to build a new oprofile enabled kernel as a UP kernel. I 
will let you know how it goes with the new kernel.
