Category: None Group: None >Status: Closed >Resolution: Invalid Priority: 5 Submitted By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: opreport error: No sample files found Initial Comment: Hello, I am running oprofile 0.8.1 on an Opteron system running RH EL4. Oprofile does not seem to generate samples, and the samples directory in /var/lib/oprofile/samples has an empty "current" directory. I tried 0.9.1 with no luck. Same versions of Oprofile worked corrcetly on Intel systems with same OS kernel versions. Error details below: [root@platform test]# opcontrol --no-vmlinux [root@platform test]# opcontrol --start Using 2.6+ OProfile kernel interface. Using log file /var/lib/oprofile/oprofiled.log Daemon started. Profiler running. [root@platform test]# ./runmp.sh example 2 Finished 100 Timesteps Simulation time: 14.0664 secs (wallclock) Total run time: 14.7232 secs (wallclock) [root@platform test]# opcontrol --shutdown Stopping profiling. Killing daemon. [root@platform test]# opreport --long-filenames opreport error: No sample file found: try running opcontrol --dump or specify a session containing sample files [root@platform test]# opcontrol --version opcontrol: oprofile 0.8.1 compiled on Oct 21 2005 15:30:43 [root@platform test]# uname -a Linux platform 2.6.9-16.ELsmp #1 SMP Mon Aug 15 20:38:46 EDT 2005 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux Thanks, Prasad (das...@ya...) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: John Levon (movement) Date: 2006-01-22 21:53 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=53034 No response. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: John Levon (movement) Date: 2005-10-26 13:12 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=53034 What are your settings? (cat ~root/.oprofile/daemonrc/) What happens if you do opcontrol --dump before running opreport? What if you leave it running for longer? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=116191&aid=1334572&group_id=16191 |
