If you want to cross compile, specify --build=BUILD and --build=HOST for example:
"./configure --build=i686-linux --host=arm-linux" , where i686-linux is host and
and arm-linux is target.

You can also dircectly compile oprofile on the target, but will take lot of time to
install the package.

Subject: Instructions for cross compile oprofile using CodeSourcery 2008q3arm-none-linux-gnueabi toolchain

Is there any information available on how to cross compile oprofile 0.9.4 for ARM? My host is an Ubuntu 8.10 desktop and my target is an ARM-Linux based embedded system. I would like to use CodeSourcery's 2008q3 toolchain. I have read the document/manual but I only got as far as:

# ./configure --with-kernel-support

How do I specify the toolchain and compiler switches to use?

Any help would be much appreciated!
