PPC64 and Intel support mode exclusion (user, kernel, hypervisor). Need not run the scaling tests for user, kernel then user + kernel on machines that do not support mode exclusion
The attachment is a patch to address the issue. The patch checks if the architecture is in the list of architectures that does support kernel and user mode profiling. Ideally, this would be changed to a list of architectures that do not support user and kernel mode profiling. Then only the architectures that are known to not support user/kernel mode profiling would skip the tests.
