The menu bar for the beta release of OPL for UIQ is two pixels lower on the screen, compared to C++ applications.

I confirm this. If you run the Core Sample by Evan, you can see a thin line between System Menu (this topmost) and OPL Menu.
BTW, only by this way you can use the Evan's routine to tap and show menu.
During my test I have discovered that OPL Menu has receiving different ID every time is mINIT(-ialised).
Could you find how to get actual one?
